Unaware she's been bound from using magic, Frey leads a small, miserable life in the village where she's sent after the death of her mother. But a tiny spark starts a fury of changes and she finds herself running from everything she's ever known.

  • Great potential. Poor Execution.

    I don't know what it was about this book, but it always felt a little too disconnected. Perhaps the pacing was too fast. Nothing ever really felt like it flowed from moment to moment. Perhaps expanding on each event just a little would have made the difference to me. I enjoy just about everything in this book, characters and setting and lore. But the writing made it a chore to read. I really wanted to love this book, but I was never drawn in well enough to forget the real world.

    Ugh I just want to read a good fantasy story w a female main character. Why do they always turn into harlequin romances.

    Totally captivated me! I bought the next one and plan to buy the rest! Some parts could be written better, but it was easy to ignore. Overall, one of the most addictive stories I've read in awhile!

    I liked the book but found it hard to follow along at times. The book felt like it should have been longer. More development of characters would have been nice. Still a good one!

    Good story horrible ending. You get dragged along in this confusing story then the end is rushed for completion. That sucked I feel I was left hanging with out any answers.
